Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a highly effective treatment in the prevention of injuries to animals, and can also improve performance and enhance the natural healing process. Soft tissue injuries involving muscle and tendon, joint capsule or ligament can all benefit from physiotherapy, if used correctly and at the right time. Physiotherapy can also aid in the rehabilitation process following orthopaedic surgery, and both spinal and peripheral conditions respond well to appropriate treatment.

At Anvil Equine Veterinary Practice we offer a range of effective equine dentistry treatments and use the very latest equipment. Our vets are fully trained in modern techniques and are committed to the highest standards of care. We believe that prevention is better than cure, which is why it's important to ensure your horse or pony has regular check-ups, so that we can spot any potential problems at an early stage.

Farriery

Farriery visits are a necessary routine expenditure. Our skilled farriers carry out a range of remedial or corrective farriery treatments. This may involve radical reshaping of the horse hoof wall or sole, but not entering the sensitive structures of the foot. Please remember that horses and ponies should not be left for long periods between visits as this could lead to potential hoof problems and also increases the risk of lameness.
